Juliana is a dedicated speech pathologist who has worked in child cares, schools and homes to support clients’ functioning and participation within their communities.
She has experience providing assessment and treatment to children of all ages, including those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), intellectual disability (ID), developmental delays, Attention Deficit Disorders (ADD) and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). Juliana provides treatment for language delays, stuttering, speech sound difficulties, literacy skill difficulties and social skills development. Juliana has also used Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and systems to expand clients’ communicative ability. She has particular interest in speech sound disorders and literacy.
Building trusting, understanding relationships with families is of utmost importance to Juliana. She also values working closely with educators and other health professionals to ensure holistic client management. She believes these relationships are vital to bringing about meaningful changes in a client’s communication skills. Juliana also firmly believes in having fun while learning (and having fun while teaching)!
Juliana is also a big kid at heart and loves the visual arts, having an interest in illustration, animation, comics and video games (she is a big Nintendo fan in particular). Additionally, she enjoys learning about psychology, philosophy and world history to better understand people from all walks of life. Her friends and clients value her patience and understanding.
Juliana graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor in Applied Sciences (Speech Pathology) and is a Certified Practising Member of Speech Pathology Australia. She is committed to continual professional development to ensure quality, evidence-based practice and is trained in Hanen’s It Takes Two To Talk program.
